Job Title: Floor Staff
Employment Status: Part Time, Hourly
Work Schedule: 10-40 hours per week/ weekend and evening availability required
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage with guests visiting the museum, including but not limited to facilitating exhibits, assisting in programs, assisting on the climbing wall, and assisting in camps.
- Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming museum environment.
- Participate in off-site educational or promotional opportunities as assigned by Museum Supervisor.
- Provide excellent guest service through-out the museum including at the front desk and on the phone.
- Open and close exhibits properly.
- Ensure exhibits are in proper condition for safety and function.
- Perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Guest Services
Employment Status: Part-time, Hourly
Work Schedule: 20–29 hours per week; Weekday and weekend availability required
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with staff to maintain a fun, safe, clean, & welcoming museum environment.
- Provide excellent guest service throughout the museum, particularly at the front desk and on the phone.
- Open and close exhibits properly
- Maintain an organized, tidy reception area
- Check Guest Services emails daily and forward/sort them appropriately
- Ensure guest’s needs are met to the best of your abilities while adhering to policies and best practices
- Follow the Task List provided by the Operations Manager and ensure Floor Staff are staying on task at all times
- Provide a fun, safe, and efficient experience for Birthday Parties on weekends – Having Floor Staff check trash and laundry as needed
- Recording all 5-minute programs and making announcements for each
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide support, inspire floor staff to engage visitors with interactive floor programming, and continually strive to improve the visitor experience.

Job Title: Museum Supervisor
Employment Status: Part-time, Hourly
Work Schedule: 20–29 hours per week; Weekday and weekend availability required
Education: Associates Degree or Equal Experience
Job Description:
The museum manager is responsible for scheduling, training, and supervising museum floor staff,
maintaining a high-quality museum experience, ensuring the implementation of operational policies, and
procedures, and engaging with museum visitors.
Duties include:
• Promote a positive image of the museum in all interactions and activities.
• Supervise floor staff and volunteers, including training and maintenance of floor staff and
volunteers.
• Ensure that kidscommons policies and procedures are applied to achieve visitor/employee safety
best practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and functional museum.
• Present educational programming as needed.
• Conduct floor staff meetings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is required to have:
• Demonstrated ability to supervise employees and provide leadership
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Experience working with children preferred
• Highly effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Museum or cultural attraction experience preferred
• B.A. or B.S. in a related field preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Job Title: Museum Educator
Employment Status: Full Time
Work Schedule: 30+ hours per week; Weekday and weekend availability required
Education: B.A. or B.S. in a related field or 2 years experience
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and assist with educational, age-appropriate programming in the museum and off-site
- Assist in tracking data that includes program attendees, names of teachers and participating schools, numbers of paid public and free public program attendees
- Teach school outreach and in-house programming for curriculum geared toward preschool through Grade 6 during school hours, and afterschool as requested
- Become proficient with kidscommons point of sale software for camps, program registrations, and invoicing
- Participate in the development and delivery of kidscommons camps
- Plan and lead/assist public programs
- Plan and lead/assist in special-event programming as requested
- Enhance and support the museum visitor experience including but not limited to:
- Prepare ready-to-use demonstration “lesson plans” (a.k.a. 5 minute programs) for staff implementation or self-guided educational activities for museum guests
- Provide support and inspire floor staff to engage visitors with interactive floor programming and continually strive to improve the visitor experience
- Monitor and engage campers, students and visitors during museum exploration
- Operational support
- Be available to work weekends and evenings as needed for educational events
