Creek Week

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: May 19 4 min/10 max Cost:$115 members/ $125 non-members Water is everywhere! Discover the amazing power of water and meet a few friends who live in our local creeks. Wade through Clifty Creek, observe critters, and enjoy fun water games!

Creative Wood with Pat Dodge

Ages 7-10 July 8-10 1-4pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: June 23 5 min/12 max Cost: $75 members/$85 non-members Campers will take home three very special projects: a beading loom, walking stick and geometric peg board. This is a hands-on camp using various woodworking tools.


Globetrotter Camp

Ages 4-8 June 2-6 10am-1pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: May 19 8 min/12 max Cost: $99 members/$110 non-members Each day campers will be immersed in the culture of different countries around the world. Learn geography, language and have a taste of traditional cuisine each day. Explore fun and interesting facts about each country, including the history and traditions. Enjoy singing, dancing, games, crafts, and more!

Artistic Expressions

Ages 6-9 July 14-18 10am-1pm

Sensory Art for Pre-K

Ages 3-6 June 9-13 1-3pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: May 26 6 min/12 max Cost: $75 members/$85 non-members RETURNING FAVORITE! Each day campers will ex- plore one of the five senses through a variety of activi- ties that will include music, crafts, experiments and stories.

Introduction to Robotics using Lego-Computer Explorers

Ages 8-14 July 14-18 10am-12n

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: June 30 6 min/12 max. Cost: $115 members/$125 non-members Students construct robots using educational Lego and then learn to write programs to get it to perform specific duties. This educational class with topics including math and science, and computer and design technology introduces students to sensors, special mechanical parts, and computer programming. You must take Engineering I using Lego prior to taking this class.


Engineering I using Lego-Computer Explorers

Ages 8-14 June 9-13 10am-12n

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: May 26 6 min/12 max Cost: $115 members/$125 non-members After guided exploration to understand basic engineering concepts, students will be challenged to build projects and apply motors to put them into motion. We introduce component parts, and how they can be used to make simple motorized machines. This class is a pre-requisite to Introduction to Robotics using Lego.

Basics to Building using Lego-Computer Tots

Ages 5-7 July 21-25 1-3pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: July 7 6 min/12 max Cost: $115 members/$124 non-members This course will introduce basic engineering concepts to young students. They will learn component parts and build several motorized machines using special Lego® kits called Lego® Elements.


Outdoor Adventure Camp

Ages 9-12 June 17-20 Tues-Thurs 10am-3pm, return Thurs 7pm – Fri 8am

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: June 2 7 min/12 max Cost: $175 members/$195 non-members Do you enjoy exploration and adventure? Experience rock climbing, nature activities, wildlife encounters and an exciting fieldtrip to Columbus Youth Camp for a day of outdoor adventure! The camp ends with an overnight in the wilds of kidscommons!

A Community of Memories

Ages 9-12 July 21– 25 10am – 1pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: July 7 5 min/15 max Cost: $115 for members/$125 for non-members Is photography a passion? How about scrapbooking? Or storytelling? These activities combine into a week-long adventure sharing personal stories alongside your Columbus, Indiana stories. Walk downtown Columbus, take pictures of places of meaning and journal stories about family history and future dreams. Each camper returns home with a well-planned scrapbook and journal that can be added to long after the camp ends.


Me and My Shadow

Ages 8-12 June 23-27 1-4 pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: June 2 6 min/12 max Cost: $115 members/ $125 non-members Explore the world of puppets! Campers will learn about different puppet theater traditions, write their own script and create shadow puppets for a show the final day of camp.

Bugology

Ages 5-7 July 28 – August 1 10am-12n

Reg./Cancellation Deadline:_July 14 3 min/10 max Cost: $75 members/ $85 non-members Spiders, Ladybugs, and Preying Mantises, OH MY! Learn what makes a bug a bug. Join in on a bug scavenger hunt, act like bugs, and play fun games.


Programming with BeeBot-Computer Tots

Ages 4-7 June 24-27 10:30am – 12n

Reg.,/Cancellation Deadline: June 2 6 min/12 max Cost: $75 members/$85 non-members BeeBot, our new robot friend, has a lot to share with us on the computer. Young programmers will be able to write their own programs to send the computer BeeBot through a number of courses and missions. Then the best part is programming our real BeeBot to do the same thing on the floor. In this unique class, students are able to go from the virtual to the concrete.

Magical World of You with Pat Dodge

Ages 8-12 July 29-30 1pm-4pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: July 14 5 min/12 max Cost: $50 members/$60 non-members Become a sculptor! Campers go home with a wire armature they create and a one-of-a-kind face sculpture.


Family History 1: Put the Genius in Genealogy! Grandma and me! – Computer Explorers

Ages 9-99 June 30 – July 2 1-3pm

Reg./Cancellation June 16 6 min/12 max Cost for 2 people: $85 members/$95 non-members After this course, you’ll be able to answer that nagging question, ―Where did I come from?‖ Create family trees, input photos and add stories that generations will enjoy! By using the computer to store your memories and research, you’ll be able to share your ―album‖ with everyone in the family … even if they live thousands of miles away!

007 Secret Agent Camp using Lego-Computer Explorers

Ages: 7-14 July 29-31 10am-12n

Reg./ Cancellation Deadline: July 14 6 min/12 max Cost: $75 members/$85 non-members Children become detectives going on missions to solve high-tech crimes and bring criminals to justice using Lego Spybotics®. How would your child like assembling a robot and using technology to save the world?


Movie Makers with Paul Neufelder

Ages 8-13 July 7-10 1 – 4:30 pm

Reg./Cancellation Deadline: June 23 5 min/15 max Cost: $115 members/$125 non-members Using curriculum developed around the History of Movies through Turner Movie Classics, Paul shares the power of celluloid storytelling from a child‛s perspective. After viewing three films, campers share in the process of movie-making by learning about placement, light, and character development. Their script will be brought to life on film. Friends and family are invited to share the final version on the last day of camp.
