Early Childhood Garden
The Early
Childhood Garden, full of sights and sounds of Indiana wildlife, a child-size camper and hollow sycamore tree—the perfect
spot for an afternoon story or imaginary play.
Columbus Works
Columbus Works, a changing interactive play area where kids can try out various trades in a simulated work space--the post
office, a bakery, a pizzaria, or an auto assembly line.
Kids-At-Art Studio
The Kids-At-Art Studio is a place full of fun and funky materials to create a masterpiece to take home as a souvenir.
Second Floor
Climbing Wall
The second floor has a one of a kind
17-foot Climbing Wall that replicates the front of the kidscommons building.
There is a $3.00 per climber charge. Hours of operation September through May, Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The wall is free to climbers Tuesday through Friday 3:30 – 5:00 (except for the first Friday of each month). Summer climbing hours – daily 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Climbing wall release forms are available on our web site under ‘Documents’.
Bubblology
Discover the science of Bubblology
while placing yourself inside a body bubble, or try various shaped wands in the big tank and see if bubbles can be made that aren't round!
ExploraHouse
Ever wonder what’s behind the walls of a house? Then
don’t miss ExploraHouse our newest exhibit! Climb up the chimney and slide down a giant toilet to discover the "ins and outs" of a house!
Third Floor
Storytelling Kiosk
Journey to the third floor to find the Storytelling Kiosk that allows visitors to insert their image into a story, leave a message for others about their kidscommons experience, or share an opinion about issues in the community.
Community Planning
Discover Community Planning, a fun place to design and layout your own future city!
Giant Chess
Challenge a competitor to a game of chess on our giant chess set, and learn new strategies by joining Chess Club!
Power Outlet
Visitors can see their own work on the big screen in the Power Outlet, a special computer center
that features multi-media software for claymation, cartooning, film production and editing, audio recording, and robotics.
